The successor for the P990i has been announced by Sony Ericsson and it is very similar to the 'business phone' M600. The Sony Ericsson P1i previously dubbed the P700 comes with the exact same keypad which we saw in the M600i (QWERTY, double sided keys).
The SE P1i is much thinner than the earlier P series phone at only 17mm. It will run on a Symbian OS v9.1 and will come with a 2.6 inch screen. The screen will be a TFT Touchscreen with 262k colors. The Sony Ericsson P1i is going to be a fusion of the 'M business series' phone and the P series. It will have a 3.2 Megapixel camera with autofocus , one of the few features not present in the M600. There is also Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.0 A2DP, Infrared and Usb 2.0.
The phone comes with 160mb of internal memory and will obviously have a M2 Micro memory card slot. The Sony Ericsson P1i is due to be launched in the August/September 2007, price at the moment is still unknown.
